The aim of the is a discussion of basic problems of the Polish constitutional law, including a historical background (Polish constitutional traditions). Topics of seminars are focused on a general description of the Polish constitutional system instead of a presentation of detailed constitutional problems. The second aim of the course is to get students acquainted with an English terminology related to constitutional law. 

 
The course is addressed to foreign students of the Cardinal Wyszynski University as well as to Polish students with knowledge of the English language on at least an intermediate level.

  2. General overview of the Constitution of 1997.
  3. Fundamental principles of the Constitution of 1997.
  4. The sources of law.
  5. Freedoms, rights and duties in the Constitution of 1997.
  6. Measures for protection of constitutional freedoms and rights.
  7. Extraordinary measures.
  8. Electoral Law. Referendums.
  9. Parliamentary system in Poland.
  10. The President of the Republic of Poland.
  11. The Council of Ministers and governmental administration.
  12. The Constitutional Tribunal and the Tribunal of State.
  13. Courts in the Republic of Poland.
